My new obsession.....Ben Nye Foundation Pallette

So for the past week I have really been restocking my kit with some old favs and new favs......Now in the midst of all this I have just found this new love for Ben Nye cosmetics especially for photoshoots. There matte cream foundation is quickly becoming my go to foundations for normal to oily skin and now even Ben Nye is hopping on the palette bandwagon. So lets see high quality at a great price ($49.95), excellent pigmentation in there products what more could you ask for! Especially since I am going through a lot of kit changes...this slim well designed palette allows me to bring 10 foundation colors on every set. This particular foundation offers such even coverage I have covered tattoos, and even used it as a concealer. So this gets a thumbs up from me and I look forward to adding even more Ben Nye products to my kit!!

IN MY KIT Vol. 3

For most MUA's this is a very familar bottle... yes it is the one and only Face & Body Mixing Medium. This multi-purpose product can be used for just about anything when on set which makes it a must have and sold out product. A few ways I use this product is with concealer or foundation to thin it out and provide more coverage. I also mix this with loose mineral powders to make a more intense color for the eye or eyeliner and it comes out beautifully.
Well worth the money and a must have!!! If there was any one product that you must have in your kit as a makeup artist this is it but be sure to keep in mind that this is a MAC Pro product and you have to have a Pro card.

Clean Brushes are Happy Brushes :)

Ok so I don't know what took me so long in posting this entry because even if you are not a pro makeup artist it is still one of the most important things you could possible do for your makeup brushes. As we all know even the cheapest brushes can be a breeding ground for bacteria which makes cleaning your brushes so important. Some people make there own brush cleanser of they purchase products like Sephora's Brush Shampoo or Parian Spirit....well whatever you do make sure you do it properly. For personal use I highly recommend Parian Spirit as an everyday brush cleanser it fights bacteria, conditions brushes and is fast drying so I give it a thumbs up. But just to be on the safe side of things I also use Sephora's brush shampoo once a week just to give ALL my brushes a through cleaning, better safe than sorry in my book. Lay brushes flat to dry and you're all set, and remember taking 15-20 minutes out of your day to make sure you have clean brushes is well worth avoiding any skin mishaps...Until next time B Beautiful

Ok so I am very excited and hype about allthe love I have recently been getting via YouTube!! There are a ton of really great makeup artist and aspiring makeup artist on there so for me to get some love out of all of them I am really feeling great about moving forward with my career and my business. My Two Cents July 9, 2009

OK so this is just my little blog today and I think I'm just going to vent. With any business there are times where you feel under appreciated........
Right now I am just not really feeling the love, as a full time makeup artist I do this for two reasons.....one for the love of makeup and art and two to make a living at this. I mean duh I do this full time I am not a part time MUA I don't have another job this is it. But for the life of me there will always be those people who really get under my skin with there thinking that I am suppose to just give away my talent! Like I don't want to sound bitchy but I'm sure that there will be enough of you out there who think that this is bitchy so oh well!
Models really need to understand that there is a lot that goes into the makings of a great photograph, like there are any out there who just pic up a camera and call themselves photographers but there are very few that can produce a stunning photograph. There's hair, wardrobe, makeup, props, electric and sooo much more so why would you ever think that any of this would be free!! I would just really like for people to understand that I do this for love and money, as a full timer I am not going to undercut myself just because some wannabe diva thinks she should get my services for free. I believe that my work speaks for itself and I am well worth the money....

So that is my little vent for the day.....

I am really thinking that I may make My Two Cents a part of my blog permanently

Goldish Green Look!!!

So this is just me playing around today with a lil bit of color and came up with this goldish green look to really highlight my brown eyes. I used a lil bit coastal scents and MAC to complete this look so let me know what you think!!!

I skipped the false lashes because this is a day look for me.

I absolutely love the way the green brings out brown eyes!! So all you brown eyed girls take note and try some green shadow!
